An Exciting Day

My father just celebrated his 60th birthday.  I was very happy to celebrate it with him.  You may ask yourself, "How does he retain his young appearance?"  So did I, until today, when I took these pictures.  As you can see he retains his youth by the simple act of playing with children's toys.

You may also ask, "Is this the ONLY thing he does that is well below his age level?"  My answer is "DEPENDS."

Depend® Brand incontinence products for bladder weakness.
OK, he was not JUST playing alone.  He was introducing his newest grand daughter to her new toys which came in the mail with many thanks to my esteemed Uncle Roger and Aunt Nancy!!  Thank you SOOO much!!

Here she is, soaking in Grandpa's advice concerning the best way to work the new toy, which is surprisingly complex and full of possibilities!!
They had tons of fun together...
She took over and did it on her own!  Even after Grandpa and Grandma left, Chloe was demonstrating her new techniques to us!!
Chloe was learning all sorts of new things today.  Cora tried to teach her to blow kisses...but something went wrong...
it got a bit messy...and droolly...
She DID try on some hats...I like this one.

"Roger that ICEMAN, I'm going in...I'm taking heavy fire...BOMBS AWAY!!!!"
We also met her Great-Grandmother for the first time.  She was attentive for Grandma!
and she liked Grandma's pillows...even though Grandma had pulled out some toys...did we pay attention to the toys?  NOOOOO, we like pillows...and...
what?  ENVELOPES?!!  Yeah, we like those too!
and they played, "Trade the Envelope," a well-known Oklahoman game...

They did get some time together, though, and they seemed to have a short conversation...even though not many words were exchanged.

but, Chloe is slippery, and when she was done, she slipped away and played with pillows and envelopes again.

Awwww, love these pics. Tell your dad those kids toys are easier with 2 hands...put down the pepsi. :) I would guess having you as a son added a few years and a few gray hairs. I only had to spend 2 weeks with you and my hair started streaking with gray---just sayin'.
