Barn Charm, Central Washington Style.

I decided to test a hypothesis: There have to be roads less traveled that will let me see another side of things...I was right.  I traveled some local canal roads and found these.  I'm happy with the results.  There are better things around the corner, I am sure.
Those are hop fields in the background.

Jim....What a fine series of shots this week. I had to go to Wikipedia to be sure of what a hop field was. Thought it had to go with beer making but wasn’t sure. Looking at that shot of the barn, I am wondering what those pilings are....look like old missiles from a distance. And that flat ground. In what part of WA is this located? my son lives on Baimbridge Island, and when we are up there I never see anything like this. Your last shot is awesome. Adore the processing you used on it. Your blog was a great find for me. expect more visits in the future. Being that my husband is out hiking the Long Trail in Vermont and into Canada, I have time on my hands to really look at people’s blogs. If you are interested in his hike go down my page to see how he is progressing. Genie

Fantastic dramatic look of the barn in the last shot. But I really love the views out over the fields to the mountains!

All 3 are wonderful barns, but I absolutely love the 3rd shot... that sky is beautifully dramatic & the barn is HUGE! Love! =)

Thank you tremendously for joining in & linking up to Barn Charm... very much appreciated =)

The "pilings" in the center picture are smudge pots. The poles in the foreground of the last photo are just extra hop poles (hops are a vine and they climb ropes, which at harvest are cut and the whole kaboodle is put through a complicated set of machinery at the Hop Kiln. Maybe one of these days I'll stop and take some pictures of a hop kiln and try and describe the process. I took the last picture at dawn, and the clouds were the entire reason for my presence.

that last photo looks like it belongs to another place and time...and we always take the road less traveled when possible.

Beautiful series of shots. I love the lighting in the last shot. The road less traveled is my favorite way to travel and it usually yields up some wonderful shots.
