Imagine a man with a camera in the right place at the right time. That was me yesterday. I'd just left work and was almost to the stoplight when I saw some smoke and a couple people running around. I noticed that it was right next to the fire station. There was no movement at the station. I stopped at the light and thought it over. I could take a few minutes for a picture. So, I pulled over. I called 911 to make sure it was reported and dug out my camera. Here are a few of the pictures I took.
I sent them to the local newspaper. I think the irony of the station sign and the fire without fire fighters really made the picture. It turns out it is a volunteer station. That explains why it was locked.
Fire damages Wapato apartments | Yakima Herald-Republic
The fire department finally got there and I needed to leave. I picked up some milk and headed for home. So, that's my news for the week. I thought it was interesting.

And I love that tree in the third photo, it is trying to back away from it. Tree's are smart. ha ha
I'll just call you Peter Parker from now on :)
Right place, right time and a man with a camera... what could be better!? Great shots of it and I agree the juxtaposition of the station sign and the fire is priceless!
Great shots! Goes to show that you should never leave that camera at home.
