FFFF #22 and More!

It is not Friday, but I was lazy. I have here for you, another photo of the daffodil I photographed the other day. Still, the theme is hard to argue with. Anything goes. So, here it is, a daffodil. I took it with the macro setting on our little Canon Digital Elph. It has worked well for us, though I would love to have a Nikon or Canon digital SLR. Still, we need to use our money for more mportant things right now, like an adopton!

OK, that's out of the way. How was my week? Not bad. I got to teach at the intermediate most of the week. One of the things that makes my day is when students call out to me in the hallway. It's not much, I suppose, but being liked is nice. What really made my day was that I kept getting multiple requests for the same day. There is nothing like feeling needed.

Now, what are our plans for the weekend? I suppose just to relax and work around the house. I know Cor has some dresses that she plans to work on. I have a few paintings I should finish. I also have some aircraft crash stuff to organize and put into a three ring binder...that is actually something I am looking forward to. I may also work in the yard. Maybe take a load of trsh to the dump. Change the tre on the Buick...again. and basiclly get the back yrd ready for summer and habitation by a small person.

Hmmm, should I begin building the plywood airplane now? I think it would makea great kid toy and a conversation piece, plus Cora could not tell me it is just junk when it is intended for the kid! Hah! That'll stump her!

Tiger, Tiger, Tiger!

"Born leader" is the key word for the Tigers. They are always in the lead and are most likely the ones to cry out "Let's Go"! Noble and Fearless, Tigers are respected for their courage, even from those working against them.
I'd like to think tht YES, this describes me, but, I don't think I HAVE to lead. As for courage, I really can't think of anything I have really ever been afraid of, except having a loved one hurt.
Tiger people are daring fighters, they are capable of standing up to the better end for what they think is right. Although they could be selfish from time to time in the little things, they are capable of great generosity. Tigers are unpredictable, always tense. and like to be in a hurry.
Again, not so sure about being a daring fighter, though my Chess Game would probably indicate that I will fearlessly attackforces of greater strength in kamikaze-like abandon. My sister described my Chess Game as unpredictable! I don't know if tht is a good thing, because she usually beats me, often with much loss of pawns and other pieces.
Tiger people are difficult to resist, for they are magnetic characters and their natural air of authority confers a certain prestige on them. They are tempestuous yet calm, warm-hearted yet fearsome, courageous in the face of danger yet yielding and soft in mysterious, unexpected places.
Cora refers to me as charming, though I don't know if I agree. All those things sound nice, so I won't contest them.
Tigers are very confident, perhaps too confident sometimes. Although they love adventures, and are addicted to excitement it is better not to challenge a Tiger's confidence. They likes being obeyed and not the other way around.
Hmmm, I DO love good adventure, but I think Iam such an easy-going guy that the OBEY thing is probbly not true with me.
Because Tigers are urgent people and always in a hurry to get things done right, they usually choose to operate alone. Tigers like to work, they are hard-working and dynamic. If you assign a task to a Tiger, the job will be undertaken and accomplished with enthusiasm and efficiency. Tigers make money, but they are not directly interested in money. Still, the Tiger needs not worry about money: just when he fears the money is gone, more seems to show up.
I don't mind working alone, but I prefer to have someone to tlk to while I am doing it, but I am lazy. And I'd sure like to know where that money is, because I could sure use it!
Tigers are sensitive, emotional. They are capable of great love, but they become too intense about it. They are also territorial and possessive, if you are a friend of a Tiger, he wants you to take his side against the bad guys and because the Tiger is so adorable, you often do. As lovers, Tigers are passionate and romantic, but the real challenge for the Tiger is to grasp the true meaning of moderation.
Yes, I am sensitive...to others' needs, but I don't think would say I am particularly emotional. I don't know about my intensity. I do like to have people on my side, but who doesn't. I don't know about the lack of moderation, but I whole-heartedly agree that I am ADORABLE.

FFFF-Sun...or Sol...

Well, it's Friday again! And there is ANOTHER FFFF theme. This time our lovely Diana has offered the theme as SUN. Thank you Diana! We really haven't seen the sun much lately, so I am having to pull from the archives. So, since I have little to say(...I know, rare day, indeed!), I figured I would offer up these little gems.

This one was taken from our front yard in California. It was a warm Spring day (By Warm, I mean upper sixties, and by Spring, I mean February) and the spiders in the grass had made themselves busy. I saw the sun glinting off their webs and wanted to record it. If you click on the picture you should be able to make some of them out. That shiny mess in the middle of the grass across the road IS ALL spider webs!

The next one is of Mt. Adams. I took it at sunset in December. If you are lucky you might be able to make out the snow blowing off the shoulder of the mountain.

And finally, this is my lovely wife when we were Christmas Tree hunting.

Friday and the FFFF

I taught second graders today. Everyone kept saying, "Oooh, I don't envy you." or "Ouch, she got a doozy class this year." "With So-and-so? Sorry!" Either I have low expectations, or I just managed to get lucky, because I had a good day! There were a few outbursts from student X, but those were relatively easily handled. I was happily surprised.

Tonight, I am about to watch Battle Star Galactica. It is a series I have been watching faithfully for the past few years, and I was very unhappy to see it is ending. Still, it seems better and has been longer run (In years, if not epiodes) than the original series.

Tomorrow, my favorite niece's birthday. It is hard to believe that FIVE years ago she burst onto the scene on the date I predicted. January 17, 2004. And she was a SHE! I predicted that too! I am looking forward to seeing her tororrow. She is such a cutie and she has grown up so fast!

We might drive down to the 3cities and have a nice dinner and do some shopping afterward. Who knows.

Oh, and the Snow for the FFFF...Diana has a wicked sense of humor...since we have NONE! These are from December...

As though I need a reason to post about myself, Diana has forced me to go through my photos and find pictures of me. The trouble is, I have, out of necessity had to skip the majority of my life. The theme for this week is "Me." I, personally, can't think of a better theme.

Some things about me:

* I was born in "General Hospital."

* I got my glasses in 3rd grade.

* I began to have others call me Jim, instead of Jimmy, in the 7th grade.

* I have liked airplanes forever...for reasons unknown to me my fifth grade teacher referred to me as "B-17!" in the years afterward...probably because he forgot my real name.

* I also dig navy ships.

* I am actually a genius, but I don't spread it around, and purposely act like an idiot to throw people off my track!

* I am a Substitute teacher, popular with the kids because I refuse to grow up. But History is my main thing!

Fancy That! FFFF!

I am attempting, for the first time, to do Diana's FFFF...or, what is it? Family Foto Fun Friday...yep, that's it. This is a photo...or, excuse me, foto of my New Game. I convinced Cora that I needed it yesterday at Borders. I have always been intrigued by miniatures, and to be able to have an excuse to own them by calling them game pieces is very handy. Mature? Not me, but I DO like to try and keep up appearances.

See how all the tanks gang up on the German Panzer, as though it isn't welcome? How sad!

Another lazy day. I did manage to put the Christmas totes away and cleared the sidewalk of ice.
